Any pros & cons to having a lo pro receiver? For a non duty rifle. Bench rest/target & varment.

Pros - cheaper then standard flatop, slick side, thicker/beefier look

Cons - cast upper, slightly higher rail then GI, no dustcover

Guess each of us has their likes and dislikes. I like the slightly higher rail for scope mounting, and the lack of a dustcover makes my heavy rifle a little more friendly to the hands. I think it's stronger in the barrel thread area too--at least it seems to have more meat around that area. Of course that's only my opinion.
