Where can I find a tactical bolt catch/release.  The one that is extended so you don't have to reach as far to release the bolt?

Try Brownells and do a search for "charging handle".

Good luck!

Cheaper than Dirt
FAC

Lot's of other places.  I like those too.

Edited to ask:

I seem to remember having one of those on my M16 during basic at Fort Benning.  When I first got my AR15 I was all confused about the bolt cache.  Am I just going crazy or has anyone else had a tactical bolt latch on their issue weapon?

I never had one on a issue weapon.

Is it faster than bumping the butt of the weapon after a mag change?

Maybe I am.  I just seem to remember the lower button.  It's been a long time though.  It was at least 12 years until I picked up an AR. My hands didn't even remember the rifle for awhile, then all of a sudden it all came back.

I dont understand how you could make the reloading process faster.  You slap a mag in.  Hit the bolt catch with the heel of your hand as you are reaching for the front handguard.  Takes less than half a second.

The tactical bolt catch has a second button on the bottom that you can fix the bolt back with instead of pushing on the bump at the bottom of the regular bolt catch.

Not sure how it would help "tactically"  because If I was in a situation where I needed to use my ar15 tactically, I wouldn't be walking around with the bolt open.
