I'm looking for a durable, bright, compact weapons light to mount on my AR. Price is a big factor as well. Any recommendations?

thanks,

Pretty much the best bang for your buck is Streamlight or Inforce.

used surefire scout on ee... the scout is compact, lightweight, and in my experiences an incredibly tough light. hunt around on ee and you will find a good deal on one. it's worth it.

Short
Lightweight
300 Lumens
Should be able to fine it under $250. Its expensive but surefire are pretty much the best lights money can buy

the toughest weapon light there is, it's elzetta. You can get an alpha setup for around $150 with mount. I highly recommend them.

FPNI, since OP stated price is a big factor. I own several of the RM1's and all have been great so far.

used streamlight TRL-1 HL 630 or 800 lumens, mount at 12 o'clock position.
can be found in the EE for $85 sometimes. no extra mount needed.

Another vote for the Streamlight Protac Railmount 1.  If price is a factor, this should be a serious consideration.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll have to save my pennies. It's hard for me to see spending so much on a light but for my SHTF rifle......I consider it necessary.

What's compact??

The SF G2 isn't overly large, pretty affordable, and 4.4 oz.

This.  You can find them lightly used for very reasonable prices.  I love how small and light they are.
