Anyone have any experience?

I like it.

But it is over priced.

My glock 22 functions perfectly with it.

I can not say that about the TLR-1

I bought one, got rid of it. Very underwhelming, but I suppose I went in with too high of expectations.

I like mine but it takes some getting used from the overall bigger heavier x300. The price point is a bit high.....all surefire products....cough...cough,  but I got it for 20% off so that eased some of my trepidations.

I got lucky and picked mine up from a guy who bought one and then offloaded it quick aside from finding holsters, I can't say a single bad thing about mine. No reason not to have a WML on my G19 now. Adds no real size to the the pistol, and haven't had a single feeding issue some of the larger lights cause. Bright enough for the effective range of a pistol. Overall, I'm happy with mine.

I have been on the fence about getting one.

On 1 hand:

-  I would really like one for my G19 for appendix carry.
-  I like the size a lot for Conceal Carry.
-  I have tried it with a TLR-1 before, but it was too big for my CC gun.
-  I understand it's limitations brightness wise, but for a CC gun, I am fine for what it is.

On the other hand:

-  Priced a little too high for what it is (Although it is expected from Surefire)
-  My biggest hang up is the requires 2 hands to operate the constant on.
-  If the switching was such that I could operate it as Momentary and Constant on with 1 hand, I would have already bought one.

Honestly, I'll probably end up buying one anyway and trying it out.

Ive got one and I love it. I was aware of its shortcomings going in. Ive also got a TLR and an X300, haven't used them since getting the XC1.

ETA: G19 in a BCA

This right here makes me even want one more. I have a G22, and a TLR-1. While I have never experienced the failures many have claimed, I have not done much shooting with the TLR-1 installed. I could see it becoming an issue, when you need your weapon to work.

The lack of one handed operation is inexcusable

Personally it was exactly what I was looking for in a CC light. I had just started carrying and wasn't too impressed with all the lights that stuck out beyond my G19's barrel and were fatter than the gun. Two hundred lumens is good for CC distances and with Trijicon sights I love my setup. Got mine for $215. Pricey, sure, but worth it IMO.

I just started giving one of these some thought. Then I found this thread. Say you're using momentary for clearing then you spot a threat. How do you turn it on constant?

There is a button on the side.  You would have to use your off hand to active the constant on.

I like it a lot for CCW because of the size.

I like it...

Prefer the X300U for my work guns but the XC1 is great for concealment on a G19/23 sized gun

It hardly adds anything to the foot print of the gun. I really like mine, but i seem to have misplaced it. Just finally tracked down a Morrigan holster for it and now I can't find the damn light. The screw attachment system keeps me from casually clipping it on another handgun like I would my x300s. I had removed it from the G19 to carry it before I had purchased a holster for it.

Just use the support hand for the on/off switch.

It's not an ambidextrous constant on switch so support hand isn't necessarily applicable in my mind. Constant on is only on the left side of the light meaning you may have to change your 2 handed grip to turn it on constant.

Then there is the one hand problem. If you are trying to use a phone, your radio, hold a child, ect. you can't operate it with just one hand like an X300. This also means you can't leave the light on when firing via the paddles (like an x300). So if you identify using the ambi paddles and begin to shoot your light source is gone.

I really like Surefire products. I carry a SF light every day. I was excited about the XC1 but after a few minutes I realized this design would not work for me. To me it is step back from the x200 and x300 series which offered not only the DG switch but constant on by pushing the paddles up or down and momentary by pushing the paddles in.

I don't own any Streamlight stuff but the TLR-6 my friend has on a Gloxk 43 is really impressive. Constant on is accomplished by ambi controls on the light where your finger naturally indexes the light. (The laser can be turned off as well which I personally like)

Sorry to ramble but I was so disappointed at the XC1 when I finally was able to try one out.

It all comes down to what you are training for. I really never use constant on with my x200/300s. If constant on with strong hand only is a big deal to you, this weapon light isn't for you.

Its hard to tell the power of lights etc from video's but this does a pretty decent job at showing it.

The poster above does have a point. If you are hit and still in the fight having to shoot one handed, you are not going to be able to use the light.

In my opinion, in the dark, hit, needing to shoot with one hand, or hold in to your kid or something is a small subset of circumstances. Before this light I did not conceal carry a weapon light because of the bulk, so I am not losing capability in that situation and am gaining everything else.

It all depends on what you are willing to accept.

It would be perfect if pushing up latched the light on or off and pushing down was momentary on.

Maybe they will come out with a gen 2 that will do that.
