| I'm looking for LED upgrades for an incandescent M3X and I'm wondering if there are any semi-cheap kits out there. The ones I'm finding are in the $65 to $70 range. All help is much appreciated. |
| Sounds about right thanks for the reply. I've seen a few for good prices but would like the led upgrade because I'll be using it outside a good amount and without that it definitely seems like there are better options for the money. Too bad there isn't a cheaper one. |

I put one of those upgrades in a couple of years ago and paid $50 or so at the time.
I believe insight has since discontinued the OEM replacement part so if you're finding them you're lucky, or you're seeing upgrades from other manufacturers that could be hit or miss on quality. The only reason I kept mine is that it goes on a pistol that sometimes uses it and sometimes doesn't, so the very quick, no tool mounting setup was of value to me. If that's not the case for you (taking it on and off frequently), I'd throw in the towel, drop another 30 bucks or so and get a Streamlight TLR-1. You'll have a very good light with a new warranty that's much better supported by holster makers and the like. Just my two cents. |
