I just received a few DBAL-I2's from TNVC. On one of the units, I cannot get the laser to work. When I press the "fire" button the green LED on the rear is illuminated, but the laser does not turn on.
TNVC has been very accommodating. They sent me a label to return the defective unit and will send me another one when they have one in stock, Before I return the unit on Monday is there anything that I am missing? (Yes I removed the covers!) I just want to make sure I am not missing anything stupid before I go through the trouble of exchanging the unit. Thanks, Paul |

Yep, have visible laser selected. Unfortunately I do not have my PVS-14 to check the IR Quoted:

This might be really stupid but do you have the visible laser selected? Yep, have visible laser selected. Unfortunately I do not have my PVS-14 to check the IR Use a cell phone. Cell phone cameras easily pick up IR light, and it's what I use to check function of my IR gear without pulling out the NODs. |

Tried this on my iPhone, but was unable to see it. Interesting. I never had any problem seeing the dot from my DBAL with a camera. It had to be up close but it wasn't hard. My Vital is very hard to see, but the laser from another device I have is super easy to pick up. |

This? I got my Xmas special DBAL recently, too, and the cover took me a sec. Quoted:

Was the laser port cover off? This? I got my Xmas special DBAL recently, too, and the cover took me a sec. Yep, I had the cover off. I checked through a pvs-14 and no ire laser either. I'm not sure what happened. I even tried another battery door. The unit is heading back to TNVC. Hopefully my replacement doesn't take too long. At least I have other dbals to keep me busy. |

OP sorry about the problem but we know TNVC will take care of you. Guess this means the Christmas Specials are now shipping? I've had mine for a few weeks now, which was a XMAS special. And I agree, I'm sure TNVC will sort out the issue. Now I 'need' a CQBL ETA: doh! That was post 666

Just as an update. TNVC went ahead and shipped my replacement before receiving my defective unit. That kind of customer service is tough to beat. The replacement should get here monday This is why TNVC continues to get my business. Service before, during, and after the sale is impeccable. |
