I am getting ready to hit the button on a light and mount for my new build, and I want to make sure what I am thinking is correct.  I have never actually laid my hands on a TLR1s, so I should be good to go with an offset mount such as the Gear Selector GS-3140 to hang it off the top rail @ 1:00...right?

Input and opinions appreciated. I am trying to keep the weight down on this thing,

Streamlight TLR1S Weapon Light w/ Strobe STL69210

Gear Sector Offset Mount Black GS-3140

That should work fine.

I have the TLR1s on my bedstand pistol.  Very bright.  The strobe feature isn't easy to implement...2 taps and hold the second tap for strobe (I don't plan to use it if I ever "need" the light).  The rear switch feels stiff at first, but it loosens up with use.  Overall, I think it's a solid value and good performer....just don't get excited about using the strobe; in a stressful situation "tapping" the switch won't happen.

Thanks!  I would not get the strobe model at all if it weren't for the fact that Primary Arms is out of stock on the standard model.

I am just looking for a bright, lightweight, and smaller unit for this rifle.  Price isn't really a limiting factor, but I can't seem to find a much better solution.  Plus, I am trying to consolidate this with the rest of my order with PA.

Thanks again!

I think I should just put myself on the backorder list for the Surefire x300, or similar LED.

After more research, this appears to be a better route.

As someone who compared both lights prior to purchase, I'd be curious as to why you're reversing course?

Reasons why I did not buy the Surefire?  Price (costs twice as much), same output as the TLRs, longer than the TLRs when mounted on my pistol.

IMO, there were no clear advantages to going with the Surefire.

rob, I was looking at the 500 lumens of the Surefire.

Am I incorrect in this comparison?

Thanks for the input, I do want to get it right.

I think there's a version of the X300 that is 500lumens, but the std. X200 and X300 are approximately the same output as the streamlight (160 vs. 170).

If you want a 500 lumen version, Surefire may be the only game in town for you.

I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

Yes that mount so work just fine for it.  Just for the sake of a comparisson size wise here's a good visual comparisson sidexside.
