I just went to remove my G2 with the M60 drop in from a ring mount.  I unscrewed the tail cap and slide it out of the ring, put the cap back on and now it is like the batteries are almost dead with a very dim light.  Before i removed it, it was bright as all hell.  I thought these things were supposed to gradually lose brightness?

Have you tried fresh batteries? If that doesn't help is there any corrosion on the metal liner at the tailcap end or on the tailcap insert that could be creating resistance? Also, are you using a metal bezel with the M60 dropin or the stock G2 nitrolon one?

Its all good with fresh batteries. I had a pressure switch tail cap on it when mounted, i tried with the stock cap as well.  Its just weird that one second it was at full brightness then 30 seconds later it is dead.  It had maybe 20 minutes of run time on those batteries (surefire batteries)

The G2 is not meant to be run with this kind of drop-in for extended run-times. This could be the cause of the shorter than expected battery-life, if you ran it for more than say, 5 minutes at a time.
