Just aquired a used M951 and can't get the light to go to constant on. I've tried it with the tailcap screwed all the way down and backed off a couple threads. Am I missing something or is the pushbutton switch defective?

Do you have any pictures of the tail cap? My SWAG is the tail-cap is of the "momentary-on" variety vs. the "constant-on".

That's the XM TailCap. It's push button pressure switch should also latch (click) for constant-on so if it doesn't then give SureFire a call.

Looks like I'll be buying a new tail cap. Surefire's warranty doesn't cover worn out switches. Besides, I'm not the original purchaser and the unit has seen some hard use. Notice in the picture one of the protective ears  around the pushbutton switch has been broken off. Maybe I'll just buy a tape switch and and not worry about using it in constant on mode. I'm not too wild about having a flashlight shining on my rifle for long periods of time anyway....

The warranty exclusion is for tape pressure switches not the mechanical action of clickie switches.
I suggest you give them a call.

Thanks for the tip. I'll call them.
