I have an AR carbine and a tactical shotgun that I want lights on both.  I can probably spend about 100-150 on each, or a little less on the shotgun's and a little more on the AR's.

I would like something with good throw and 200+ (or 300+) lumens on the AR.  I will be putting it on the left hand side of the MOE handguard, and probably do not need a remote tape switch.  Lightweight is a plus but the main concern is getting a well concentrated beam with good throw.

I think I want something small and light on the shotgun, with about 100 lumens, and strobe function.  It is a Mossberg 590a1 model #51660 and I think I will put it on the left side of the feedtube, to keep consistency between light placement of the 2 weapons.  I also am not sure how I will mount the light as of yet.

I suppose if needed I can spend all my budgeted money on 1 light for the AR now and wait a month or two for the shotgun light.

By the way my HD pistol has a Streamlight TLR-3 on it, and I am very happy with the size and weight, but it is missing strobe.

Sounds like a TLR-1S might fit in with what you are looking for on the shotgun and I'm not sure what kind of range you are looking at in terms of throw with the AR, but the G2X from Surefire is lightweight (under 5 oz I think) fits your price range and hits 200 lumens. If you want more throw you could look at something using the Malkoff M60 module from Elzetta or even the Hound Dog from Malkoff directly. You could even be really adventurous and try out the Streamlight TLR-1 HP.

A Surefire VTAC L4 for your AR and a TLR-1s for your shotgun.

I kind of like the Surefire M600C, should I spend the extra cash on that one for my AR and wait a little while to get something for my shotgun?

The SF VTAC L4 is basically the M600C Scout, but without the built in mount, tape switch, or the $300 price tag. So if you plan on or want to use a tape switch, then spring for the SF Scout.
