I've been building out my Colt LE 6920, and somewhere in the middle of outfitting the rifle for a lefty (which I am), I decided that I want it not only lefty, but ambidextrous.  My current idea for a light is a 6 o'clock mount with a 12 o'clock switch.   I'm considering pistol style lights, but for some reason I just like having a traditionally shaped flashlight on the weapon.  Everything isn't built out yet, but this is the design: Magpul ASAP with a Magpul MS2 sling, Badger Ambi charging handle with a tac latch on the right side, BAD Lever (has left hand advantages too), Norgon Ambi mag release, midlength DD Omega X, with a low profile gas block (rail over the block), EOTech MPO III (Holo sight with flip over magnifier), Magpul MBUS front and rear, and Magpul AFG (I like it and want to give it a shot, but ultimately may have to go with a vertical solution).  I'm 6'3" with long arms, so the AFG should really probably be very far forward on the rail, so my problems are placement due to rail space and ambi concerns (if I use an offset, can a different handed shooter run it as is?), and activation given the AFG grip method.  Any ideas are welcome.  This is my first post, but I really appreciate all the great information I've read on this forum.

Thanks in advance

Since you are running a rail over gas block type setup with the AFG I would suggest a 12oclock mounted X300 at the end of the rail system.

I'm left handed and run a Surefire G2 LED at 1 o'clock  in a gear sector mount and can easily reach the tailcap with my left hand thumb over the top of the rail when transitioned to my right shoulder.

Thanks for the responses. I've got a TLR1 for a handgun, and I realize that type of light would be the simplest for the AFG. I may go that way eventually, but I just really like having a normal sized flashlight on the rifle.  I hadn't heard of the gear sector mount. I'll definitely look into that with a G2.  It will probably come down to my ability to reach all the way over the rail to the switch when shooting right handed. I also found the Thorntail mount with a scout light and a 12 o'clock pressure pad. Much more expensive, but I do like that layout.
