I have a tape switch that came with my Scout Light.  I want to mount it down in the "valley" between the two Picatinney rails, so it is out of the way and is easily reached.  How do I attach it so it stays put?

It came with a self adhesive pad but that failed a long time ago and it's now a bit loose.  Does anyone make a small clamp or other device that is more long-lasting than tape?

Don't say duct tape!

I used dark brown rubber wrist band that was a promo item for UPS.  The kind that you see at gas stations with logos such as "America", "Livestrong", ect.

Rubber bands do not last more than a month or two when exposed to LA air pollution.  I need the mount to be solid after storage in the safe.

Maybe I can find or make two little spring clips that fit down in between the rails and clamp the switch against the bottom of the "valley".

Cut sections of  bicycle inner tube to the length you need.

Might want to try the Larue Index Clips. I've seen several people mount a tape switch like that with them. Might depend on what rail system though.

I use electrical tape.  Works great.

I had mine mounted the same way for a while. I used magpul XTM rail pannels on the ends to hold it a bit more securely. It worked for my purposes but I finally baught a surefire rail grabbing pressure switch.

Nice!  Lots of options, I knew I came to the right place to ask.

I went to the Surefire web site to look at that switch.  It looks like a nice unit but I don't want one.  Here's why.  That unit places the pressure pad out in the open.  Placed there, it far too easy to bump it and wink on the light.

Unintended, poorly timed wink on =  bad news

I have my switch down in the valley between the rails.  I just need a way to ensure it stays put.

I like those Larue clips.  I like the way they can help control the wire, too.
