[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Lasermax IR conversion

Now that the Lasermax Uni-IR is available, it may be less necessary, but I'm wondering if anyone has the info on doing an IR conversion in a standard Lasermax Uni. There is good info on doing a IR diode module swap on a Beamshot 1000, but I couldn't find any details on doing it for the Lasermax. I'm wondering if it is necessary to replace the laser diode module as a complete assembly as in the Beamshot conversion, or whether just the laser diode can be changed out in the lasermax.

Never seen a device where the diode just popped out. If you can solder, though, you might be able to change it. Of course, that's only if the electronics are the right kind.
