I just acquired 2 of these and I was looking for positive identification on them. One of the bodies has a number- A341412(hard to read) and the other A343571. Any info would be great. I also have some questions. I'm not sure if they are stock or have been changed...Thanks
1. Exactly what model #'s are are these?
2. Is it worth changing the bodies on these?
3. Are parts still available for these & if so where?
4. Is it a waste of time?

The numbers beginning with "A" are serial numbers.

Yes, these are model M951 Millenium Series weaponlights.  Also correct, the numbers that start with "A" are serial numbers.  Parts are still available for these lights.

Def M951

You can still get parts for them from surefire.
The bodies can not be changed out
If you wanted to improve them, you can change out various parts
Bulb - You can do a Cree Q5 drop in from TNVC, Optics HQ, ARFcom EE - Or you can switch out the bulb and bezel for a KX4 head from surefire
Mounts -  You can change to a better quick release mount - LaRue, American Defense, A.R.M.S.
Tailcap - Can't really change out the tailcap, but you can get a newer tape switch from surefire

Have you tried searching for a replacement body for a M951?

both are M951XM weaponlights.
if the 7" tape switch is attached, they become the M951XM07.

why do you need to change out the body?  upgrade the lamp assembly from the P60 to any number of quality drop-ins (P60L, Malkoff, etc.) and you're good to go.  just be sure to tighten down the thumbscrew mounts with a coin/tool.  or upgrade the rail mount to a LaRue.  the tailcap can be rotated (not just unscrewed) to position the push button in the best spot for your fingers.  or swap out the XM tailcap with a clickie tailcap (Z48, Z58, etc.) to make it easier to press.  lots of options on these, since the body/collar are compatible with most 6P tailcaps and heads/bezels.

+1

The body on a SF is about the only part of the light that doesn't get swapped out.  Upgrade to a LED drop in like a Malkoff M60/M61 & change the tailcap if you don't like the tape switch. Both of your lights have seen some use but will still give decades more service.

Upgrades for the M951 are as follows:

1.Malkoff M60 or M61. Ditch the incan bulb, it's weak-sauce and eats batteries.
2.Danger Close Consulting Scout mount w/ Millenium off-set adapter.
3.SureFire SR07 switch. Though not necessary, you have to decide where you want to mount your light and how you would like to activate it. Applies to the DCC off-set mount as well.

The only reason I was asking for another body was I thought there might be a lighter option without the mount built in.
Also is there a Tan or Flat Dark Earth Option?

There are some factory FDE anodized M952s out there, they come with the new SureFire throw-lever mount and can be found in the EE or on eBay. They also come with an all-black tailcap.

Also, the mount isn't built in. You can take it off (should be some screws on the side) and replace it with a LaRue 170 or A.R.M.S. #17 mount (the latter makes it a M952XM).

I didn't mean the mount I was saying the way the body has mounting points on it. I was thinking just a round style body.
