The thrunite modules are a good xml for longer runtime on primaries with a bit less output. Nailbender is usually a max output setup. He pushes his xpg at 1.5a and xml at 2.8 or 3.1.3.1 is not recommended for continuous use. Cree claims 3.0 is what the upper limit is before its over run/ efficiency is lost big time. |
| If you do decide to get the Nailbender XM-L, be sure to ask for thermal epoxy potting, it will help shock-proof the LED module and protect it from recoil. I also recommend against using rechargeable batteris, when they run out of power they go out without warning, and primary CR123s are the most reliable and offer the longest runtime. Rechargeables have their place, I use them in my handheld SureFires, but my weaponlights all use primaries. |
