Looking for a mount for my Streamlight PolyTac.  I am not sure of the diameter. I believe it may be .9 of an inch, which would mean most light mounts would be too big.  I see GG&G makes a sleeve to slide in one of their mounts but I'm not sure if i like that mount. Might need something that is offset.  What are you guys using?  This will be mounted on an AR quad rail.  Should I just ditch the Streamlight and pay twice as much for a comparable Surefire? Seems silly.

I just picked up a poly tac and mounted it in an Elzetta. Had to use the Elzetta supplied adapter to make it fit.

I too have one mounted in the ElZetta 1500 mount. Gear sector makes a offset if that is what you want.

The Polytac is the same diameter as a G2. Any G2 mount will work. I used to run a Polytac in my Mount-n-Slot G2 mount. Now I run a G2X instead. They both are 1" diameter.

I learned something new, thanks. Any main reason you switched?

The G2X is 200 lumens vs 120 w/ the Polytac. The Surefire has a larger tighter beam. Also I like the fact the Surefire has an aluminum head. The Surefire is definately a beefier feeling light. That said for the price the Polytac is great. I still keep mine with my 1911 as a home defense handheld.

Yeah, 200 lumens is worth the change. The polytac is a great light for the money but that Surefire will be on my short list.
