hi guys,

i was looking at getting another surefire 600c for my newest rifle, and it got me thinking about the one i already have.  i looked on surefires website and it says they have a max output of 200 lumens, but the box my first one came in says max of 120 lumens.  i got my light out and double checked that i did in fact have a 600c with the KX2C LED head, and i do.  im not sure of the exact age of the light, but i wouldnt guess more then a year and a half.

just wondering whats up, did surefire re-do their 600's to get 200 lumens or maybe the box is wrong?  anyone else notice this or have this little issue?

edit:  well i did some more reading and from what i get out of it, is that if your scout has the KX2C head, then it is the 200 lumens scout light.(that head is what makes it the 200) and that some(possibly still) scouts are being boxed in the 120 marked boxes.  like i said, im just guessing based off what i read, i would greatly appreciate an expert to chime in

Only the last batch of Surefire M600Cs came in the old 120 lumen rated boxes.   Having the KX2C head doesn't mean you have 200 lumens.  I have some with the same head on mine that I bought two years ago and the newest ones are a little brighter at longer distance.

Up close it is hard to tell, but shine it 50 plus yards and you will see the difference.   You may have gotten a 200 lumen with your old one, but I don't think they had them a year and a half ago.  The new 200 lumens were only released after the last shot show.
