So I changed my setup from a Grip Pod to an AFG and am using a tape switch, but I can only find the Ergo mount and it's not a fit for what I guess is the newer Surefire switch design
I know Magpul used to have a mount but now all I see is the MOE Illumination Kit.

Here's what I have, after spending half an hour with an Xacto trying to make it fit:

Although it works, you can see it's not much of a fit. I am not satisfied.
Is there a brand of mount that fits the darn switch? I really dont want to Velcro it or buy another switch that's $60+

Any help is appreciated!!

Been looking at these.....
tango down 4-1/4"

or these...

tango down 6" rail cover

Have been looking for them locally with no luck.

Thanks I wonder if anyone out there has used one with the newer switch...whether it is a fit or not

Thanks for the links - much appreciated !!

Are tape switches universally sized?  I have purchased a tape switch for my TLR-1s and really like this as a potential mount for it.

Any slot dimensions for the area holding the switch?

The TangoDown panel comes with two inserts.  The larger one works perfectly with the TLR-1 pressure pad.

The new Surefire tape switch model that you have does NOT fit correctly with the TangoDown rail panels.  I have one and it was a waste of money as it wouldn't fit in there.  You would have to superglue it in place to make it stay still.

I went out and bought Surefire SR07 switches for all of my scouts and am very happy with them.  They are the best out there.  It is worth the money, and you can sell your switch for $35 on ebay or AR-15 classifieds.

This is exactly what I do. Only way to go in my opinion.

I learned the hard way... today in the mailbox was a Tango Down rail panel. Seems like false advertisement. Doesn't fit my XM07 at all!

Oh well lesson learned.

You're only 40 seconds with a razorblade for proper fitting. FWIW the old style tape switches didn't fit either, and I needed to trim them down a bit.

Another thing you can do with the ERGO rail cover is to throw away the POS top cover they give you (it is flimsy and doesn't stay on well) and put a few drops of superglue on the bottom of the pressure pad and stick it on the rail.  I did this before going the SR07 route and it held great.   The only reason I sold it was I like how easy the SR07 switches go on and off the rail and they require no effort.  The ERGO is very tight until it loosens up.  Plus I wanted all my switches to look and feel the same, so the ERGO got sold in a combo deal on the EE about six months ago.

If you do this, don't cover the whole switch bottom with glue.  Only put a straight line down the middle of small dots and then press it on firmly for about 15 minutes.  Let it dry over night and it will never come off.  Also, use an alcohol prep pad on the rail top before gluing.  It will get any dirt or finger prints off of it so it ahears better.
