Ok so I just finished my first AR build and want to mount a light. Currently, I'm looking at this mount:

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Viking-Tactics-Light-Mount-BLACK-p/viking%20light%20mount%20black.htm

I'm not looking at spending a shit load of money, like I don't need a pressure pad, triggered light or any crazy gizmo like that. I was pretty much thinking just mounting a tac flashlight (123s, such as surefire or 4sevens) into a mount like that and woo-la. This would mainly be used for range time and drills/matches I shoot here in Florida.

Any ideas/experiences?

Thanks in advance!

I run the Viking system and love it.  Doesn't seem like much when you're installing it, but once you tighten it down it is really solid. I just picked up a second one at a gunshow.  As soon as I change my handguards I'll have it on my duty rifle and my SBR (when the stamp arrives).

I run a VLTOR offset mount with a Fenix TK11 on mine.

I wanted a no-bs light that was durable, affordable, and bright. It had to have a push for momentary and click for on/off. I like how the TK11 has the two modes, regular at 60 lumens for inside and 285 lumens in turbo (R5 head) for outside. It has really good throw and spill.

The VLTOR mount is short money, metal, and uses thumbscrews to secure it and the light. It comes off in seconds without using tools.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going to go check them both out!
