Hi, I have an AR I am building and I want to mount a light to it. First some background specs on the rifle. It has a fixed FSB and MOE handguards, I am going to mount a GG&G sling thing on the FSB, but I think I can use a SLiC thing to put a rail on the other side. The light will either be a PrimaryArms weapon light for the throw, or a G2/6P style light with a forward clicky. I am wobbling on this decision. Any help here would be much appreaciated. My other question is if I mounted a G2/6P style light, how would I best mount it? I am thinking FSB rail ( Can only be on the right side, because my sling mount is on the left.), or a MOE rail. What mount and position would I be best off using? Thanks ahead of time!!!

I would go with the Surefire 6P from TNVC.  It has an upgraded LED that comes with it and has over 200 lumens.  I think they are under $100.  For the mount, you can get a VTAC mount as they aren't very expensive but are good quality.

I would go with the Moe rail as they are supposed to work well the with the handguard you already have.  If you put it on the right side, you may need to run a vertical foregrip (if you are right handed) with an offset mount.   If you are right handed and want to use the clicky switch, I would recommend putting it on the left side and using a GEAR sector mount to put it nice and tight to the rifle.

Let us know what you wind up with and how you like it.
