I just bought an M952 through long mountain outfitters. It came with a pressure switch, but I would like to run an SR07 on it. Does anyone know if I can just plug it in, or do I need to buy a whole new tailcap for it to accomodate the new switch. I'v looked at the pics of the switch and it dosent look like it will fit.

If you have the XM tailcap which has both a socket and a push button then you just pull the old pad out and plug the SR07 in, they are the same connector.

No I dont have the XM tailcap, I guess it came with an older syle cap. I is the pressure switch only and no push button.

Ok. So you'll have to purchase an XM tailcap assembly and the SR07 rail mounted tape switch then. I would recommend calling Calvin at brightflashlights.com he can likely set you up with what you need at a great price. I and many others have used him in the past and he is great people to deal with.

I really like the 952, it is very rugged, and I think that the light is an awsome deal from long mountain outfitters!

I got the cheaper $125 model. I wouldnt waste the money on the more expensive one, I couldnt find a single scratch or scuff on this light!!

Real old school M95 you have there.
You'll need either an "XM00" or "UM00" TailCap if you want to plug in the SRxx remote switch.
The "00" indicates you just get the TailCap and no standard STxx remote switch (for example the XM07 comes with the ST07)

Yea, I had to purchase the new tail cap and sr07 switch seperatly. It all works great now though

It has an early version, likely 2nd evolution, of the MH90 Millennium Universal WeaponLight Housing Body.
It has an early version, likely 2nd evolution of the LU60 Lamp Module.
It has the SUxx/UUxx remote switch TailCap, I'm guessing SU06/UU06.

I'm not sure the LU60 will have the black plastic insert in the hexagonal Lamp Module Adapter Collar?

The 'pure' way to achieve that is with the SW02  Clickie TailCap.
However, the Z48 has the same internals but a style more suited to flashlight models.
I suggest you contact a SureFire Dealer, such as one that supports this forum to discuss your options.

You're wrong. That's not how the Millennium Universal WeaponLight System model numbering system works.

The generic term is "M95" with the 1 (M951) or 2 (M952) indicating the type of Picatinny Rail Mount.
"1" indicates the SureFire M49 Dual Thumb Screw Mount
"2" indicates the SureFire M50 ARMS Quick Release Mount

"M9" = Millennium (based on the MH90 Millennium Universal WeaponLight Housing, rather than pre-Millennium 'Classic' WeaponLights)
Next comes the choice of Lamp Module:
"5" = LU60 Lamp Module (akin to M2 handheld, two SF123As)
"6" = LU10 Lamp Module (akin to M3 handheld, three SF123As)
"7" = LU15 Lamp Module (akin to M3T handheld, three SF123As, TurboHead)
"8" = LU20 Lamp Module (akin to M4 handheld, four SF123As, TurboHead)
Next comes the choice of Picatinny Rail Mount:
"1" = M49 Dual Thumb Screw Mount
"2" = M50 ARMS Quick Release Mount
Next comes the choice of switching:
"XM07" is the standard TailCap with ST07 remote tape pressure switch on a 7" cable.
There have been other switch options offer in the past such as the "C" (Charlie) aka "Clickie" using the SW02 TailCap.

^^ thank you so much for summing it up for me lol.

i guess i dont really need the quick release since i plan on having it on the gun at all times.

my mk18 is too plain, i only have the kac rails and vfg. the surefire and aimpoint on wilcox will spice it up a little.
