Is the alternating 5/80 lumen function on this light contained in the bezel or the tailcap?

Thanks- and no, it is not time for a new avatar. Death doesn't change what you were in life.

I think I maybe lost here.  But on my E1B, in order to alternate between "low & high", I just click the tailcap clicky.  Hence, alternating clicks will function as low then high and vice versa.

Are you asking how you control it? That is at the tail switch, push to go between modes, push completely in for 80l at any time.

Control is in the tailcap, but circuitry for the output adjustments is in the head or bezel.

That's not how it works.
It's a dual output clickie User Interface.

Press for high output [and push further to click for constant-on high output]
Release pressure [or click off if constant-on] to switch off
Press again for low output [and push further to click for constant-on low output]
Release pressure [or click off if constant-on] tp switch off
repeat the cycle.

You can apply pressure for high output, release for off momentarily and apply pressure for low output, and press further to click it constant-on low output.

Lights with this user interface (E1L, E1B, E2L, E2DL) are not designed, intended, nor suited for use mounted on a firearm.
