| Anyone mounted a Super Tac? If so what mount did you use and do you have any pics to share? |
| I think I have decided to switch to a smaller (lighter) model, the TL-2 LED. Although they are both (TL-2 and Super Tac) listed as hand-helds by Streamlight I think that's because they can be used as either hand-held or weapon. Anyhow, I believe that the LED should work well on a weapon. I'm thinking that both the size and weight on the Super Tac make it a little large for a 14.7" barreled weapon. |
| I called Streamlight to ask them about this light and I was wrong. According to them it can be mounted on an AR just fine. I didn't think it would stand up to the shock but I guess it will. My apologizes. It still would be far down on my list for use on my AR. I feel there are better choices. IMHO. |

I think they all put out the same 135 lumens with the C4 LED. Beam shapes are going to be different due to different reflectors.
Also, I disagree with the being listed as handheld and promoted as such and therefore are not suited as weaponlights. The Surefire G2 and 6P are handheld lights as well and are some of the most popular weaponlights I have seen on this site. |
| My super tac has as much flood light as my G2 in buildings, but also a lot brighter hot spot. A smoother transition from the hot to flood light properties of the super tac would be great. I have shined it at 150 yds at night and have no problem illuminating a treeline, at that range the hot spot is about 70-100 ft wide and the ths flood was in the 70-100 yd wide area. Plenty wide enough to pick up movement. Mine is in an el cheapo offset mount where the momentary switch can be used by my thumb on the vertical grip of my M4. I need to pick up a good mount for it. Side note you do npt want to flash your eyes with it, you will see a burning circle for a couple minutes, that bastard is bright. |

Wow, at 100 yards mine had a hot-spot of 7-10 feet or something and no flood at all hardly. In-doors the only way I could argue spill was to say it had bounce, lol. They have made changes! |

| Thinking back about the range it was more like 250 yds, and you are right the spill indoors is from some bounce back. It is real nice for night time varmint and predator elimination. For house clearing or up close and personal the G2 led in a weapon mount or a TLR-2 would be superior. |
