I've got a 6P flashlight and am wanting to mount it on my LaRue 7" rail.  Which mount would you suggest,  an inline or the offset mount.  I do not have a VFG and am also a leftie if that makes a difference.  Currently am looking at either one from LaRue,  what other brands do you guys like?

LaRue makes great products.  You may also consider our ZORM and ZROC offset mounts.  They provide very low profile positioning of the light and work very well with or without a VFG.

Shown below is an Elzetta ZFL-M60 Weapon Light in an Elzetta ZORM Offset Rail Mount with optional ZPR118 Accessory Rail:

I'm really happy with the new VLTOR offset mount with QD. It works with G2 and 6P Surefires. I believe these are available from Kevin at BrightFlashlights.com.

In regard to offset or in-line, I think it all depends on how plan to engage your light (e.g., with your thumb while holding the handguard versus holding a VFG).

ETA: That's not rust on my mount near the QD lever; rather, it's poor lighting in my room.

+1 on the VTAC mount.  Very solid, affordable, and the lightest (no pun intended) light mount on the market!  Check it out here.
