Please also take a look at our drop in lamps for the Surefire line of lights. http://www.tacticalnightvision.com/illumination.htm They have been extensively field tested and now battle tested!  See the March and June issues of SWAT magazine for some heavy endurance testing of our lamps.  Hope this helps.

I second the malkoff. I really really like my M60W MCE, but it's not for a weapon, best for hand-held and hiking where you want massive spill and not so much throw. MASSIVE! 400+ lumen all-spill hand-held warm-tinted sun!

I'm needing to replace my 6P bulb assembly.  Yes, I dropped it.  I've owned it since the early-mid 90's.  I'd like to put a LED head in it for super-long life.  Brightness is not as important as a long lasting "emergency" light.

I constantly am upset about recommending one vendor's prduct over another when they are both members of this community. There is a bit of an elephant in the livingroom here, and it's name is TNVC module vs. Elzetta's (Gene's) M60 Malkoff. Both Victor as well as Elzetta have been professional and polite and both are top-notch to deal with. I have bought from both of them.

So far they have kept the peace between themselves in a manner that I am in awe of. Victor seems to go after the tactical guys more, and while Elzetta has gone for this market too, the Malkoff unit has mainly been embraced the heaviest by hobbyists, not that there aren't M60's hanging off of several full-auto platforms in the sandbox, but hobbyists seem to be Gene's main target from what I see, and based on where he spends his time posting.

The TNVC module and the M60 module are different enough that I personally do not think they compete with each other. TOTALLY different beam-patterns, and different running parameters when it comes to output and run-time.

I think there is a big enough pie for both products and their vendors here to get a slice, but I do think that perhapse they should be OBJECTIVELY compared because I see that elephant hiding around here a lot. Many people ask "TNVC or M60?" and everyone has their favorite and most just bite their tongue while Victor and Elzetta both politely post links to their site. This doesn't help people. It just makes the answer more confusing, in my opinion.  I do not have my TNVC or regular M60 module anymore, so I am out on this one, but I think it would be very interesting if TNVC were to post some beam-shots (both close-up and far away), some real-life run-time graphs, and some actual OTF lumen numbers, and if Elzetta would do the same with the M60 unit.  I think this would help a lot of people out in making the best decision possible FOR THEIR NEEDS. However, I presume that both Elzetta and TNVC are comfortable with the piece of pie each are getting and neither will do this and the elephant will contine to remain and tongues will be bitten and whatnot. Makes me kindof sad. At least everyone is being professional here.
