| I have a Surefire M961 on one of my rifles. I really like it. My other 2 rifles have Pentagon lights but I want to move them both to Surefire. Thing is I want all 3 flashlights to use the same bulbs. I also would like lights with 2 batteries as an option. I tired going thru Surefire website and cant find what I am looking for. Am I stuck with getting M961’s to use the same bulbs or is there another option. Thanks |

The M961 is a 9 volt, incadescent light. The bulbs it uses are only found in the M500A, M510A, M900A, M910A, M961, M962 weaponlights, and the M3 handheld combatlight. If you want bulb commonality, you will have to buy M961s or M962s for your other rifles. The M5xxA series are drop-in replacement for carbine or rifle length forearms. The M9xxA series are vertical grips that mount to rails.
Without modification to the lights, the M961 will require 3 batteries. If you want a 2 battery light, you will have to buy one (or 3). Edited for clarity... |

The M96 is a three-SF123A model based on the "M3 CombatLight". It uses the MN10 or MN11 Lamp Assemblies.
There are two alternative WeaponLights for rifles that use the "M3" bezel: 1) M500A series handguard replacement. 2) M900A series vertical foregrip WeaponLight. The only lamp assemblies that fit in the "M3" bezel are the MN10 or MN11. There are no two-SF123A lamps for it. If you want to run with only two SF123As then you can replace the M96's LU10 Lamp Module with an LU60 Lamp Module thus creating an M95. Does this help at all? Al :) Edit: Multi-tasking meant I was too slow in actually posting my reply. D'Oh! |
