it's giving me a donut shape of light with a dark center.

The bulb has shifted positions in the reflector assembly caused by the recoil from the 870. I'm assuming you it is the incadescent version, not the LED.
You can call Surefire and tell them that the bulb has gone bad (funky beam profile) and they will send you a new one. Or you can buy the LED (P60L). I know that the lamps are supposed to be shock-isolated, but they will eventually go bad due to recoil. That is why SF includes an end-cap to replace the lamp assembly when training with the shotgun. |
