Do they make rechargeable battery flashlights that can keep up with the cr123a disposable battery flashlights? I want to mount this on my lmt cqb piston as well as be able to use it as a camping and everyday use flashlight. Seeing that battery costs would add up fast especially when using the flashlight everyday for work, I would prefer a rechargeable setup. But if no such rechargeable flashlight exists then a disposable battery flashlight will have to do. Features I would like this flashlight to have is high/low power outputs, durability, ease of use, and strobe would be nice. Filters would also be a helpful addition to keep night vision intact. Any suggestions on which brand and/or model would work best would be greatly appreciated.

A surefire 6p led or g2 led can be converted to use rechargeable batteries. This is the direction I will probably be taking when I buy a gunlight.

Night Ops Gladius with P4 LED upgrade... and 4 rechargable protected 123 cells and a good balancing charger so you dont blow up your flashlight or burn down your house.  Getting a dedicated rechargable flash light is not a good idea IMO... lots of them are NiMH or (GASP!) NiCad.

The Surefire model the previous poster mentioned has none of the features you said you wanted.  The GLadius goes so low you dont need a silly filter I want to say its like 1 lumen or so at minimum... just program it to do constant on from the bottom so you dont get blinded going to low level.

I'd be curious in rechargeable 123 batteries if there were any of good quality. I take my surefire caving, and it does come in handy, but pricey,

Do a search on candlepowerforums.com on various rechargable 123 cell options and charger options.

Streamlight Strion LED

This is new.  I may be a little tough to find right now.  Also keep in mind the body diameter.  The Streamlights run a little narrower than the Surefires so be sure to check your mount.

I've got a Fenix TK11, and I like it a lot.  The ability to switch between 60 and 225 lumens is nice, it's got good throw, and is solid.  I've also got an assortment of other Fenix lights, and they've held up well.  I ran my EDC P2D on a shotgun mount the other day, just for fun (since it's no good as a tac light), and the mount went flying off and landed on the concrete behind me after some rounds of buck.  The P2D got another good ding, but kept lit up, and didn't switch modes.

As for rechargeables, many of them lose their charge gradually, so if you're in a situation where you can keep them charged and swap them out regularly, that's good, but if you leave them in the light for long periods, you'll need either regular batteries, or LSD (Low Self Discharge) rechargeables.  Otherwise, you go to turn it on, and they're dim or dead.
