| Which one's better and why? I'm trying to decide on a light for my 16" LMT MRP. |
| The Scout is far lighter and can have the same head or a lighter head and the same tailcap assembly and the same or Scout specific mounts. THe Only thing the larger 6V Millenium light is better at is that it retains batteries from the head which is important only for incan bulbs vs LEDs (where it is not important). So the Scout is the better choice 99% of the time. |
| I had a M961 on my rifle. It's a great light and it throws pretty far. However, it made my rifle front heavy and it took up too much space on my 16" LMT rifle. So I bought a Scout Body, tail switch and cap, and a KX2C LED head and made my own M600C Scout light. It's a lot lighter, the battery life is better (2 hrs on 2 batteries compared to 1 hr on 3 batteries), and I don't have to worry about the bulb burning out when I need it. I spent $215 on building my Scout light. I sold the M961 for $190. |

Same here, except I had a TNVC and then Malkoff modded 6P in between purcahsing those other 2 you mentioned (also, I ran the MN11 bulb vs. the MN10). My M600C is superior in throw, lightness, and battery-life. I love it. No regrets. You can get them lightly used for $2-250 all day long too. |

Why does the millitary issue the Millenium Universals? What do they like about ithat system over the scout? Is it a more secure mount or something? Politics play a huge role in what is issued, as does money, ect. ect. ect. The M600C with a LT mount is what I run, and I have yet to see anything I would rather have. |

how does the output and throw of the Scout compare to the M900 series (9V) lights? Both throw about 75m when comparing a good LED in the Scout to the 125 lumen standard bezel of the incan 9V lights. You get more run time on the Scout. The high output lamp increases the size of the hotspot on the 9V units but really does not increase range on the standard bezel 9V and it runs 20 minutes. You have to use the large refelctor assembly of the 9V lights to get the additional range and then we are looking at a set up that is WAY larger and WAY heavier than a Scout. Totally different class of light. |

| The 951/952's are an RFI item. We just got a ton of them. Before that, we used Insight M3X/M6X's. In my old unit we used 951s when we first got in country. As those big, clunky lights broke down, my command snagged us Scout lights. I've never looked back. I now have M600s on all my rifles and one for my issued rifle. IMO the Scout is far superior in regards to weight, durability, and throw. But thats all anecdotal, I don't have facts or figures. |

Also, I have confirmed 160-200 OTF lumens from the E2DL and KX2C heads. I agree 100% with your above findings. |
