I had a FAB Defense offset light mount on a railed forearm for my M-4 with a vertical forward grip. It was the perfect placement for my left thumb to press the back of the sure fire G2 button with a solid grip on the vertical grip.
My wife opened the safe, my Colt M-4 comes out and smacks the concrete floor. The FAB Defense offset light mount made of plastic breaks. So I get online and order a Daniel Defense offset light mount, made of aluminum. It shows up in the mail today so I rush down and put it on the rifle. The surefire is too damn far away from the railed forearm. It sticks out too far and my left thumb can touch the button but it's a reach and not comfortable. It may be slightly lower than a pair of standard scope rings would make it, but it makes the light just as far away from the rail as a scope ring. It's completely unusable. WTF is going on? EDIT: I guess it is what it is. Wasted $50. Wonder if BravoCompany will take it back. Anybody have any suggestions on a solid aluminum offset light mount that brings a G2 button to the side of VFG? Thanks. |

For a G2, have you looked at the VLTOR Offset scout mount?

In designing the new Elzetta ZORM and ZROC Offset Flashlight Holders, we paid special attention to the placement of the light.
These all-metal mounts will never break if dropped on the concrete and offer optimum ergonomics with vertical foregrips.

I have a couple of these, they will not bend when dropped and are pretty close to the rail
