Does anybody have any experience with these on ARs and how do they hold up? I know this is not a weapon light, but am curious if it still works ok.
Also, what mount do you use for it? |

I have a 6P with a Malkoff M60 drop in on 1 rifle and have fired 700-800 rounds without a hiccup. Use a Daniel Defense Offset mount. I have a G2 LED in a VLTOR scout mount on another rifle with factory surefire led and have 400 or so rounds through it without a problem. However I will be changing in out for a Malkoff M60 also. IMHO the Malkoff M60 whether it be full power or one of the low output models is a must on a rifle. The throw is longer and it puts out one hell of spread also.

| I use a G2 and my bro used a 6P and we have had great luck with both! These lights are insanely durable and the rifle recoil is nothing to it although the recoil does cause me to loose grip of the button tho *shrugs* i dont feel like paying $400+ for some tactical light |

The Malkoff M60 is the ONLY option worth looking at. I am toying with a Dereelight Q5 A3 drop-in module with a smooth reflector. They are driving them at 1.2A and so it should produce equal or slightly more torch-lumens as my M60W (I cant stand anything but a warm LED now that I tried it, so much better throw, even with less lumens). Also, the smooth reflector vs. the optic should be MUCH better for throw. The Malkoff has sick spill though, and good throw. IT is definitely first-rate. I will have to compare the two. |

I do it is a weaponlight. it works great I have it in a DD rail mount . I used a R2 emitter not the surefire one and I'm at about 270 lumens. Have you measured this? Do you know how many MA you are pulling at the tail-cap? Have you used any light-measuring device? The only company that uses "real" (torch lumens) ratings seems to be Streamlight, Surefire, and Malkoff (I am sure there are others though). But most of the drop-ins are Emitter lumens, which means the raw amount of light the LE diode itself puts out. Not how much actually makes it out the front of your light. |
