First off I must say that if I would have known exactly what I was getting I would have saved up for different light, but I didn't do enough research. I picked up the Thunder Ranch TL-3 package knowing that I would replace the bulky mount with an offset mount. Little did I know that all of the offset mounts I can find do not fit the TL-3, which is a non-standard .091 inch diameter body. I really like the light output of this light but want a professional way to rig this to my rail. I know some one on this board has an idea or source for an offset mount that will work. So with that said how is your TL-3 mounted?

I just mounted my Scorpion in a Viking Tactics offset mount. I put a section of bicycle tire tube over the handle to enlarge it (lubed up with dish soap and slipped over) fits fine. Should fit any 1" mount if you put that or anything else you wrap around it to enlarge it.

Is it pretty stable and secure? Sounds like a good plan. Thanks!

I used a "universal 27" Bell tube, says it fits 1 & 1/8th and 1 & 1/4 tires, it was a nice tight fit. I think you could wrap duct tape around the handle also.

Botach sells a mount that is made for the Streamlight.  I use one with my TL3.

What can I say, I'm cheap.  I got the same light as yours.  The lumen per dollar factor on this light kicks butt.

I cut a strip of plastic out of a 35mm film container (remember those) and wrapped it around the light, then clamped it in the ring.

It's pretty solid, not rock solid but its a flashlight not a precision sight.
