Hello. I have a Bushmaster XM15-E2 that I have a UTG quad rail on the gun, as well as a forward grip that can accomodate batteries and a pressure switch on either side (Left/Right). I am in need of a good light, mount, and pressure switch! I had purchased a cheap red dot recently. It failed, and I'm back to iron sights (thank God the red dot didn't fail when I needed it - I didn't have a BUIS!). I appreciate your recommendations. |

I went with the non-standard approach with mine. My A4-clone has a Surefire 9P with the Shock-Isolated bezel, a XM07 Tailswitch, and a P91 bulb. The Wife's M4 has a Surefire 6P with the Shock-Isolated bezel, and a P61 bulb. Both are mounted with some cheapie weaver QD 1" rings. |

I really like the 600 Scout light. It depends on the distance you need the light to work. Scout light is great for indoors and close range, but the beam has a limited reach out doors. Also if you plan on running Night Vision, I don't think the LED's will work with the IR filter. All the Weaponlights only get heavier and brighter from the Scout. M95's are nice, next step up from the scout. Keep an eye on the EE, a lot of good deals on light's can be had. |
I don't get the impression that you've seen the beam of the latest (the current) ScoutLight - M600C. It's got quite some throw. Very different from the close-range wall of light that was the M600A.
The LU60A Lamp Module is designed specifically to allow the ScoutLight platform to host a P60 (supplied as part of the LU60A) or P61 incandescent Lamp Assemblies which are capable of being filtered for IR only output using the FM63 IR BeamFilter. In fact SureFire have already thought of all this - their M600C KIT01 comes with the LU60A and FM63 along with both a Z68 Clickie TailCap, and a UE07 TailCap with remote tape pressure switch on a 7" cable. The KX2C bezel used by the M600C is rated at 120 lumens so it competes with the P61 High Output Lamp Assembly used by the M95. The important difference is that the LED used by the KX2C can produce 'tactical' level output for 2 hours compared with the 20 minutes of the P61! I hope this helps? |
