I heard they were only making them in hard anodized (funny kinda green kinda gray color), otherwise i may pick up another. I run mine on my YHM foregrip with a tango down and a tape switch and couldn't be happier. I got mine along with most of the setup gear from Brightflashlights (check the industry forum) and they were fantastic.

I kinda like the HA color, and the HA is a lot tougher than the type 2 HA black, scratches a lot less easily

If you are getting the 2 battery model go ahead and get the L2, it is a diode, and has very similar lumen output as the X2 models, and the bulb never blows

i sent my kid some of em for use in mosul, the guys love em

Well lets take a look and see why you want it.

It is a 3 cell light that produces 135 lumens for 90 minutes.  Most 2 cell lights can produce more light for longer that use an LED.  The light in question is incandescent.  The bulb can burn out or the filament break.  The only reason I can see it being selected over a Cree LED based light is price or you want to run it with a IR filtter for NV use.  If you dont have some kind of ultra low price for that light you can get something else for a similar price that is brighter, last longer, more durable, smaller and lighter.  Pentagon LEDs are not an option as they only use the older Luxeon 3 and 5 LEDs which are old technology and produce less light for the same battery power... they dont have Cree based lights yet as far as I know.  Id be looking at a Surefire 6V based light so you can also upgrade with future LED upgrades in a smaller package in a couple more years without buying a whole new light.  I am not a fan of the G2 based lights as I have had a tail cap failure and someone else I know had a body failure that cut off the power but at least if you got a 6P or similar as a body upgrade for a G2 in the future you could swap heads with a G2 replacement LED if price is an issue and you dont need incan for a currently owned NV you already own.

If you can spare the extra $20 or so Id get a regular 6P and a Malkoff drop in M60 LED replacement bulb assembly.  If you are on a really tight budget get a G2 and Malkoff M60 replacement head.  You will get the same runtime as that Pentagon light but 100 more lumens of light for a smaller size and weight of light.  If you get the G2 consider upgrading the body to a 6P in the future.

The Pentagon lights I've had, one had a defective tailcap and the other was finicky.  I've noticed tailcap problems with them and all the other imports.  Even quality lights can have tailcap problems(Novatac).

For something you're going to trust go Surefire.  Just use somebody elses batteries made in the US.  Call Calvin at Brightflashlights, not only will he take the time to go over your options and make recommendations, he has the best prices.  He's a standup guy and real nice to talk to.  He even carries alot of AR parts/accs.

Good lights. If you want the specialty tailcaps(tape switches, etc) check ebay for cheaper prices. Pentagon prices for the tailcaps are worse than gas prices.

I have been using the L2 LED White Hard Anodized 85Lum for 5hrs and love it.

Pentagon makes good lights no matter what one you get.
