L5 Surefire Who has one? Is it a good model? CAN IT THROW A TIGHT BEAM OF LIGHT??? THIS WILL BE FOR HAND CARRY ONLY! |

I don't one have but if you want throw get the aluminum shock isolated bezel for your G2 and the malkoff P60 led upgrade. I have one on my scout and its possible to identify targets at 85+ yards. MALKOFF P60 UPGRADE |
I asked this over at www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=191184, and the answer was "no". The MN10/MN11 lamp assy is very small and much harder to replace than the 6V P60 assy. Surefire, however, should be coming out with the KL9 LED head this year for M3/M96x lights. This is supposed to be ~300 lumens or so. |
Im keeping G2 as is it works for what I need already  The 5L will be for Handheld only ! Its only 6.10 inches So it wont be to hard to carry along with my Handgun etc! |

DeFabricata over at candlepowerforums sent an L5 back to Surefire for repair/replacement. What he got back was a new light called a KL5A. It has a Seoul P4 emitter in it instead of a Lux V. I have done that mod to my L5 and it is a ton brighter. So, you guys that like the L5 might check into the "A" version. It would be better than the Lux V model. |

Just a note that the L5 features the KL5 bezel. Very recently SureFire updated the KL5 bezel with a new LED as mentioned and refer to this updated KL5 as the KL5A. It is not yet clear that the L5 w/ KL5A bezel will be called the "L5" or perhaps "L5A" or other. However, KL5 / KL5A is clearly etched on the bezel so it should be easy to identify one from the other. Al |
Looking at there website I think the L5 comes with the newer head KL5A When I clicked on the pic I could read it on the head of the L5 Im going to order it straight from SF anyway. So I think I will be good to go |
