if I'm right handed, is the light suppose to be on the left side or the right side of the AR? I mount my light on my FSB and I don't have a tape switch. If it's on the left side, 11 o' clock, I turn it on with my offhand thumb but if it's on the 1 o' clock, how should I turn it on then? Just curious

1 O'clock would be a tape switch.  3, 4, or 5 O'clock would be thumb with a VFG.

You normally work with what options you have and do what is most comfortable for you.  When it comes to using a FSB mounted light but no tapeswitch you'll pretty much be forced into doing exactly as you are.  It is certainly possible to change mounts & go a different direction but you should try to decide what location you most prefer first and then find out what's available.

6 o'clock is my personal preference.  Without a VFG, no matter how I grip the handguard I can always reach the bottom side.

thanks for the responses. I was considering the Surefire G2 and I found that it seem more convient if it's on the 11 o' clock but near impossible to turn on/off on the 1 o'clock if I don't use my right hand. I personally find it somehow feels better if the light was on the right side. So I think i'll searching for tapeswitches.
