| I am putting together a Colt 6920 setup. I got the Surefire M961 but I don't want to run the cable to my Tango Down foregrip. I would like to put the M961 in a LaRue LT-606 offset mount. What size rings would I need for the mount? Also, I'd like to switch out the tailcap so it's just a plain push-button switch. What kind of endcap would I need? Would the Z48 or Z49 work? Thanks a whole bunch as I don't really know much of anything about Surefire lights. |
![]() Surefire makes a push button tailcap for the M961C model shown, I would recommend it. The LT-606 offset light mount might not be for M96 models, they used to have a dedicated LaRue offset light mount that doesn't have rings, they just screw to the two mounting holes of the light body. Contact Calvin of Brightflashlights he's a very good Surefire dealer here and could help you on all your Surefire and LaRue needs, see his industry link below. The TailCap shown in the photo above is the SW02. It contains the same switch and rubber shroud as the Z48 (HA) and Z49 (BK) but is styled to be easier to rotate (disable) and so is used on WeaponLights since users are often wearing gloves, out in the cold/wet (etc) and under stressful conditions where it would be preferred to more easily rotate the TailCap to enable or disable the switch. Talking of the switch - the SW02/Z48/Z49 has a Clickie switch - momentary on/off push button pressure switch that can be pushed hard (all the way) to latch constant-on (Click on/off). There is a reasonable amount of travel on the switch, and the rubber shroud guards against accidental clicking (and activation in general). If you are not looking for a "Click" switch then SureFire does offer a momentary on/off push button pressure switch TailCap - the WeaponLight version styled like the SW02 is appropriately called the SW01 and I believe SureFire have discontinued it. Some Dealers still have stock but it's pretty expensive. The standard TailCap used by the M2/M3/M3T/M4 (and C2/C3 etc) is the Z41-HA. If you have a SureFire such as a 6P then you'll be able to use it's TailCap (Z41-BK) to see whether you prefer the non-clickie style before laying out the cash for an SW02 or Z48. Al |
