Very well made, works great indoors and at night in the field.  I can see the laser at maybe 200 yards against a dark brown brick wall at night, in spite of parking lot lights present.  Daytime use is a marketing fantasy, don't believe it.

I ran the Las/Tac mounted at 6 oclock for a while, it was easy to activate with the index finger, but distracting when a Red dot sight reticle is also being used.  Now it's used for exercising my cattle dog, who will run till she drops of exhaustion chasing the laser dot at dusk...

I had a Las/ Tac for a couple of years, and it ran without fail. Outdoor effectiveness in full sun light was 25 FEET Max., but so are most other visible lasers including my OTAL.

If you're going to get one, and insist on 100% repeatability Point of Aim when taking it on and off...get the LaRue QD Offset Mount. I tried several others including ARMS, Laser Deveices own mount and VLTOR, and all of them would not repeat Zero Point of Aim at 20 feet when I took them off the rifle and replaced it.

As a matter of fact, you could knock all of these off zero just by asserting pressure on them when mounted on the rifle....and the Las Tac was mounted very, very firmly inside these mounts. The mounts just don't fit the standard rail like the LaRue Mount does.

LaRue Rocks!

Very satisfied with mine in a LaRue mount. I might wait because the mainstream companies are starting to come out with green version that should have better daytime range.

A good excuse for a picture post.

I had a LAS/TAC laser for a while and replaced it with an OTAL. I was told that the laser module inside is the same and only the housings are different. Either way the LAS/TAC was a very nice, high quality laser and at a great price too. I have mine mounted in the Viking Tactics polymer mount as I never had a reason for QD. I hear the LT mount is the way to go though. I like the looks of the double LT mount for both light and laser setups.

My surefire is mounted on a 19.00 Viketactics mount

fot the price it cant be beat
