I just searched the archives, and there has been very little about these in some time.  Anyone want to give a review after having one for a while?  Anyone have any problems? Is there anything else out there in an IR laser at the $500 price range right now?  Thanks.

I don't own one, but I've handled them on numerous occasions and I've been extremely impressed. If I had a use for an IR laser that's the one I'd choose without hesitation.

I have a "Beta" unit and so far so good. It's a little cleaner (detail wise) then the original and the price (for what you get) can't be beat.

I've had one for a while, have a lot of rounds downrange with it and have no complaints.
It has held zero perfectly, and continues to function flawlessly.
While I would love to have a DBAL A2, the IWAL2 gives up nothing as a simple IR laser. It's particularly low profile as you can see from the photos, solid as a rock with no plastic parts, waterproof, shock proof, and seems to run forever on a single 123 cell.

Hayes Research is coming out with a new model in the very near future, and while I can't say anything about it, it will be a significant upgrade.  Stay tuned for photos.

Do you know if the price will be significantly higher?  I tried to IM you but I think it bounced.  $500 is about my limit.  Thanks.

The IWAL III will be more than $500.

I also have a beta version... i have used it extenisvely since mid last year... had it at Blackwater's HRSO course... two TFTT Courses and several other courses that I helped teach.

The IWAL was instrumental in pointing out to my fellow students the location of the instructors car during the drving portion of the driving instruction at BW...pretty amazing piece of kit... very durable and well worth the price.

I have one, and althought it has mostly been used for Coyote hunting, it has worked very well for me.  I've had it about a year.

What's the effective range that you can see the laser?

5mw IR lasers are usually good for 1000 yards.
