Any experience - especially from LEO who carry (or tried) to carry as a duty light.

Did the lack of constant on push tail cap drive you nuts?

Run, don't walk, and get one.

I have been carrying a L7 for about 3 months now and I love it.  Prior to this light I carried a Surefire M3 combat light for about 2 years, with a Z2 as a backup.

The L7 has the best throw I have ever seen for L.E. purposes.  It still has a bright hot spot, but it will fill an entire room with flood light.  At first I was afraid that it would not keep up with the M3 at longer ranges, but that is simply not the case.

I rarely use constant on, except to search cars.  Just twist the bezel and you are good to go.  I like the fact I can recharge the battery stick faster than I can use it.  If you can get to your car cigarette lighter, you can't run out of juice.  If you are going to be in the woods or expect a long night, just grab the extra battery stick and you are good for more runtime than you will likely need.

I still carry the little Z2 on the other side as a backup, but don't use it often.  The M3 sits retired, but still ready to go again in the safe.

FWIW I gave $175 for mine for a price reference.
