On your 16 inch carbines where do you all place your lights? I have a DD 7" rail...a Tango Down VFG right in the middle 6 o'clock between b25 and b19..Why do you put your lights where you do?...Right now all I have is the light with a pressure switch in the VFG...I want an eotech on top of the rifle and want a laser device at the 12 o'clock posistion on the forend. I wanted to know about the lights because I'm about to decide and cut my rail covers accordingly. Thanks |

When using the pressure pad I'd say it has the most to do with being left or right handed. I would say put it on the rail opposite the side that contacts your body when slung (3 or 9). I am right handed so my light is on the 3:00 rail. This leaves the 9:00 free to lay flat on my side, and does not interfere with my side sling adaptor. As far as the positioning on that side, I like to set the light as far down the rail as possible to give me less shadowing from the barrel. |

I'm also right handed and I usually mount my lights at 1, 3, 4 and 6 o'clock positions. I use a pressure pad when using the 1 o'clock position, with the other locations I prefer just the cap switch. Sometimes I use my FSB mounted light mount when using a backup light at 11 and 1 o'clock. |
| I'm right handed and use a railed forearm with a TDVG so I mount my light with the end cap of the light even with where I have the VG mounted so I can use my thumb to turn on the light. If your using just a tape switch it really doesn't matter where you mount just as long as it's not in the way of anything else |
