Does anyone know if CR123 batteries (in tandum) will replace the recommended Surefire DL223AC battery for the P6 weapons light?  Any ideas for a dependable and available battery for it?

The purpose of the SF223AC (previously with Duracell batteries it was known as the DL223AC) is to prevent the positive terminal of the batteries being crushed under recoil over long term use in a heavy recoil firearm.
You can use individual SF123A batteries from SureFire however I suggest you inspect the batteries for signs of crushing if you don't change them often but use the firearm a lot.
Crushed batteries mostly lead to poor or unreliable contact.

i wondered the same thing & called SF a few wks ago, they assured me that the std batts will work fine.

i have had batts get "crushed" myself, after less than a 30 rnd mag outta my AR15, not SF batts though, we shall see if they work or not i suppose.

they dont make the weaponlight batts anymore because some law prevents them from shipping them IIRC, sounds nutz but thats what they told me lol.

Lithium batteries can not be shipped by air in passenger aircraft holds due to a series of accidents, fires and explosions etc. I can give you my understanding/opinion of the situation if you like?

ETA usually 24 to 50 in a package, sometimes factory packed, sometimes not
