| I have a light and the remote tape switch will burn the shit out of you if you keep it pressed more than 5 seconds. Is this normal? |
|
Electricity should flow through the tape switch nice and fast. Resistance is what is causing the heat which shows that the tape switch is made of cheaper single strand wire or that it has too high of a resistance. I might have been designed thinking it would be used on a 2x AAA flashlight or something as well... If it is creating heat, you are losing electrical efficiency and light output. |
Yeah, what he said! ![]() I'm glad I can contribute here...... |
Thanks. I was thinking it was probably designed for another light or it was just a cheap piece of crap. Oh well, mabe I can find a G2 tailcap really cheap and still use the light as a backup. |

It's just not working WELL. If the light comes on and is bright enough for you to blind someone, maybe that's good enough? This should somehow be added to some "clone" type of thread as a warning. I just turned my SF M3 on for 6 seconds and the lense wasn't even warm - 9V 125L |
