I currently run a Pentagon X3 in a LaRue mount for my AR. I'm looking for a light weight, quality, 6V weapons light. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

Surefire Classic 6v is my top choice, I consider it ideal because of the fact it will fit a large variety of mounts (std. 1" body), has multiple tailcap options (XM, UM, U0x, Z41, Z49, Z59 & aftermarket), convertable to 9v if desired, parts compatable with most other 'standard' size Surefire lights.  The Classic's feature both a shock isolated bezel and have battery retention.  The Classic's are only a little more than ounce heavier* than the Scout or E series type setups.

* Depending upon tailcap choice, the XM dual mode and the Z49 will add a bit more weight.

Next on the list would be the Surefire Scout light or using the E2 or L4 series with a Vltor mount.  Both of these have a wide array of configurations as well, you can have a std. incandascent head, KL1 or KL4 LED head, or even use the conversion adapter and go up to the P60 & P61 lamps.  My two favorites are the std. incandascent head (M600B Scout / E2E / E2D) or use the new 3w KL1 head on an M600 or E2D w/ Vltor mount (essentially the same as an E2L).

Surefire Scout Light.

Or X200 if limited to indoors use.

That brings up another one too; the Streamlight TLR-1 is more than adequate for a lightweight solution -

Why not another Pentagon product? I run a Gladius as its the most powrful 6V LED and gives both excellent range and sidespill in close. X200A is better as an outdoor pistol light, X200B indoor. Have you looked at  Pentagon L2?

I would agree with Calvin on the Surefire Classic. I have one of the 6 volt models mounted on my wifes carbine and it has worked great for several years.

I recently built this 9 volt with his help. You could do a similar setup with a 6P, Z32, Z49, and Viking Tactics mount.

My only gripe with the Surefire Millenium series weaponlights is that the integral mounts makes them less flexible with various mounting options. I wish they would make it a two piece unit with a removable mount.
