Has anyone tried these?

Holy crap, is this thing a joke?  Looks like the type of thing that on paper and in videos looks like it would work, for a street cop, MY GOD, looks like a cluster waiting to happen.  My head hurts trying to figure out the 'right' way to deploy it!  Sorry, to answer your question, no, never used one, and if I did, I might hurt myself!

its a good idea, basically its just a flashlight with a velcro strap that you stick on you hand, but

WHAT THE HELL?

how are you supposted to turn that thing on and off? How do you really direct the beam effectively with the back of your hand? sorry its just gay!

if they give you one free for marketing or feild trials take it cause its free! but i would not pay money for something like that.

Does it have a built in tape switch? Do you use your thumb to turn it on and off?

AWDTerror beat me to it.  I guess you can throw out an effective support hand transition.  Appears it would only be "beneficial" for target identification if you had already made contact with the suspect and were ready to fire while standing in a weaver or isosceles stance.  Any attempt to manipulate the light during a building search would result in an awkward twist of wrist and arm better suited for a contorsionist.
My Review:  Don't buy it.  Wait until your friend does so you can laugh WITH him.

I'm not going to say it is a bad product just because it looks different.  I haven't heard of it until just now, so I can't say whether it is a good idea or not.

But it does have a couple things going for it.  Looks like it is much better for reloads.  If you can get a 2 handed grip on the weapon, it seems like that would be a good thing.  Also, lets you have a light and you could have OC in that hand and keep the other hand free for other things (sidearm, asp, radio mic).

Possible issues:  stability and getting used to the 'pointability'
It also looks like it would be a pain to have to put it on and take it off all night long.
If trying to manipulate the suspects hands it is nice to have the light, but the part in your palm might hinder your dexterity as well?

Just trying to analyze it with an open mind.

They're either going to make a lot of money, or go broke  fast.

It looks like you do control it with your thumb.

It's called the Liberator.  As far as I knew, THIS was The Original Liberator:

We were given a few of these to evaluate by our powers that be.  They are impractical.  I appologize if that lacks in explanation, but looking at it should answer any questions.

That link reminds me of http://www.loving-angles.com
I wonder why? Perhaps because I used to work for a furniture test lab in structural performance (strength, durability etc) testing and tested all sorts of interesting things.
I can't refer directly to any specific product of course .
I wonder whether I had as much fun as the guys in ergonomics testing who did user trials or the guys in materials testing who did stain-resistance and cleaning cycle testing etc... Perhaps it was the guys in flammability testing doing cigarette and match testing?

They advertise the higher accurate scores, but compared to what? 3 and 4 cell Maglights Or little tiny pen lights?

Put a mounted light on, then what?

To me, that seems like a really silly thing and I would not want it.
