How about a Pentagon x2 for my AR-15? Are those lights any good? With which series Vltor mount do they fit in? Fit into the Daniel Defense mount?

It will work with your AR as it is shock isolated. You will need the VLTOR Classic series mount. It will also work with the DD mount.

The only advantage that setup has is that the Z49 is a better tailcap than the one that comes with the X2. Stick with the X2 I think.

Just bought an X3 from the EE and love it.  It has a Vltor CK mount and I got the tapeswith.  I am very happy with it and I only paid $149 for it.  I got it from Teknic at Tactical Solutions.  Geat to deal with and have since bought several hunderd dollars worth of other goodies.

Not really, the X2, X3 & L2's offer both battery retention and an encapsulsted lamp assembly to protect it against recoil shock, the G2 with Z32 will only have a s.i. bezel.

If you want a 6v system with a clicker you might want to consider the Pentagon L2 as it comes std. with a clicker tailcap.  The L2 is a 3w LED and closely rivals the performance of the 6v X2 & G2 lights.

I have the same setup as PsyKo's but I use my thumb to activate the light.

That is a ProMag FSB mount, it and the Midwest are virtually identical in appearance and fit but they do sit a little lowe so you can't use an M4 side sling adapter.

Well.... that might not be an issue if you run a single point..
