...a visible laser that looks like the flat "boxy" IR unit (PEQ2 or PEQ4?) that our GI's mount on the rail system of their M4's? It would be neat to have for night use but I'd prefer it look like the GI version. Can't afford the real deal right now. It'd be great if it was a combo visible laser/flashlight.

I think a Laser Devices OTAL would suit your needs.

The "boxes" you're referring to, are IR lasers (night-vision visible).

The ITAL or OTAL are "boxy" in shape and can be had with a visible laser.
