I recently discovered that pimping the 6P is not as simple as it looked.  Adding the A19 "6 to 9 volt adapter" SHOULD be the same as a 9P, right?!  And everyone knows you MUST add a Z32 "shock absorbing bezel" to boot.  How about a Z59 "clicker tail cap"?  And a P91 200 lumen lamp.  Now she's ready to play.

Blink, blink, what the h...

Batteries good.
Lamp good.
Switch good.

Then I finally (after about a week of head scratching!) noticed the modded OLDER 6P body was about 1/4 inch shorter than a regular 9P body.  Enough so that when assembled with the Z32 bezel the pressure from the tail cap end was able to push the lamp assembly far enough forward (shock absorbers, thank you!) to make the electrical contact with the body(large outer spring) become intermittent.  Installing a normal 9P bezel was the fix.

End of story, the new Z32 bezel and Z59 clicker work super on a 9P body, and were apparently an inappropriate and unreliable combo with my older 6P body.  My old 6P is from around 1994 FWIW.  I really prefered it's slightly less aggressive checkering and nicer feel than the current "flat side" bodies.  HTH.
