Hi everyone.
I was thinking to add OTAL to my M 4. So I have a question.
Will the laser interfere with an Aimpoint that I already have?
I don’t see how to deal with two red dots on a target.
Any input will be greatly appreciated, as well as any feedback on OTAL.
Thank you.

I have been running an OTAL for about a year now. I personally love it. It won't interfere with your Aimpoint. When I am doing CQB type shooting I don't look through my optic and just use the laser.

They work great together.

I have my OTAL set for targets up to 25 yds and the Aimpoint set for 50 yds out.

When I had the OTAL/ACOG config...it was 50/100 (viewed 50 yds through the optics as well...it gave an excellent POI reference)

i use my otal with my ta31 which is sorta like a dot. and its great! but i dont see why you would even light the laser if your veiwing through the glass unless of course you keep it on all the time

Make sure you buy from a reputable source. Airsoft / Japanese copies are all over and the people selling them on ebay and such lie through their teeth about it. I had one they swore was a "real" LD ITAL until I pointed out it took 2 AA batteries (real ones take 1) and the laser emitter was on the wrong side and I asked for the s/n to check. Here's what they responded after someone else had bought it (I sent the buyer a little e-mail as well to let them know what they got - Bet they will be a little

chris this is not ana laser devices if it was it would be a lot more than 285
this is a hk clone for half the price but don’t confuse it with airsoft junk
this ital is  a fully functional laser I use with live fire and it returns to zero after live fire or after removal for storage
my husbands ebay user name is monte2024 his name is ken hey has been answering most of your emails
thanks jody

Didn't know HK was getting into the laser clone business as well...
It just kills me what these people will say

I going to go out on a limb here and say that HK stands for Hong Kong....

Grant, your Surefire is in the 9 oclock position. Are you left handed or does it work better with the laser system. Appreciate any info on this set up. thanks,

I am right handed. I run my thumb down the left side of the weapon and activate the tailcap that way. Your left hand should be nothing more than support and you should NOT control the weapon with this hand. With your thumb going along the rail it is very hard for you to apply to much pressure to the VG. This is the same idea that you use when lifting weights (bench press). You don't curl your thumb under the bar, but leave it on the same side as your palm. Give it a try!

I am a Military Distr. for Laser Devices, but to the best of my knowledge am not allowed to ship them out of the country. You might want to contact them and see what they can do. If they are willing to send them to you, then I will help you out (and save you some money).

Grant, (or anyone with OTAL knowledge)

Will the OTAL work around a Troy front sight? Im thinking of getting a OTAL, but with the lower profile thumbwheel mount and want to make sure it is off-set enough to clear my Troy front sight.

Damn, that was quick! Thank you Sir.

Since I got ya, are the mounts replaceable on the OTALs? Just want to know incase LaRue comes out with a OTAL mount

I have some issues with an OTAL and an Aimpoint in a KAC Cantlever mount.  The Aimpoint can not be mounted any further forward than the T-11 rail on the upper using this system.  Any farther forward the aimpoint and the tape switch of the OTAL bump into each other.

Thats just with this particlular combo, YMMV

Just wanted to post my MRP pic from the other thread to show off Grant's wonderful OTAL laser.

Grant, if I remove that red "DANGER" sticker from the top of the OTAL:

1. Is the finish underneath the same after cleaning any adhesive off (surely it must be?)

2. Will the "mattress" police find me in violation of any statutes, rules, regulations, etc?

Very nice (and expensive setup)! You can remove the sticker if you like (if you burn your retinas out it isn't my fault)!

Now come on Grant, it isn't expensive at all compared to teenager's car insurance, or college education, or the price of that MV Agusta I've been lusting over.

I'd like to see some detailed info on this laser and particularly daylight useage.   Any reviews or other literature I can see online?   Does it sit low enough to mount in front of an Eotech without a riser or would it need to be on a side rail for that?

I run the OTAL with an EOTech and LT EOTech mount.  I can see just the very top of the OTAL in FOV (no enough to bother me).

The OTAL is visible in FULL sun light to about 20-25yds. If it is just slightly cloudy you can see it for 50-70yds.

I ran it on my TD VG. It does hang over some.

If you slide about a 3" length of bike tube over the TD VG it will hold the otal pressure pad tight and eliminate the slight overhang ,looks almost factory.

Grant,

What is that mount you have for the PVS14?  Will that one line up ok with the EOTECH?  I've got my EoTech mounted right to the rail, not raised at all, and I've been wondering about what type of mount to get for the incoming PVS14.

Also, will the OTAL work around a regular front sight?  (Not the folding type)

The mount you see in the pic is a special low PVS-14 mount. Since you do not have the LT EOTech mount I would get the standard height LT PVS-14 mount (have them in stock now).
