I recently purchased a used M500 light from the boards and when I tried to mount it, there was just no way that it is going on the rifle. (20"Colt). I tried it on two different Colt uppers and it would no fit either. Has anyone else had this problem, and yes I've tried a handguard removal tool. Bondster |
| I'm assuming it is the rifle model? With mine, I had to use a rubber mallet to smack it together near the delta ring. I know there are a few threads on this matter but I don't know if they are older than 30 days. SF used to have installation instructions on their website, too IIRC. |
| Mine took a hell of a lot of beating to get in place as well. The paperwork says it's a "crush to fit" design and it's intentional. Seems like just bad QC to me, but I eventually got the thing on there. Don't know what I will do when my Form 1 comes back and I have to remove the thing to put the 10.5" upper together. Maybe it will fit better next time, but I am not looking forward to finding out. |
